There have been studies conducted on couples to find out if people in happy relationships cheat. Amazingly enough, triptogether.com the results from the studies have shown that people in happy relationships do take part in adulterous behavior. The question is, if they are so happy in their relationships, why would they feel the need to cheat?
That would suggest that they are
not entirely happy with their significant others and obviously something is
lacking between the two people that infidelity satisfies. Or possibly people
have different ideas of what a happy relationship is, or how cheating is
defined.
What defines a happy relationship?
A happy relationship is a relative
concept that would depend on the individual and what their idea of happiness
is. Some would say that a happy relationship is two people who have built a
prosperous life together in which they both have good jobs, have money, have
children, triptogether own a home
and other property, have social status, and could not want for anything.
Others could say the joyous
relationship are two people who have equal say concerning the status or
direction of their relationship; where there is no dominant partner having the
final say over the other, but both people's feelings and opinions are respected
by each other. Still, there are people who consider the ideal relationship to
be two people who have an active, fulfilling sex life with each other. Whatever
their definition of a happy relationship is, there is something that causes the
relationship to fall short of satisfying one or both partners that would motivate
them to be deceptive toward the other.
What constitutes cheating?
What actions or behavior that
people engage in can be construed as this undertaking of betrayal? Cheating is
a relative term and that would also depend on the individual's perception of
the illicit act. Would it include watching pornography, sexting, frequenting
chat rooms, or actively participating in dating behavior or flirtation triptogether.com
Reviews using dating apps? If you are someone who believes that is
cheating, technology makes it easy for someone to be duplicitous. If a person
wanted to take part in extracurricular activities, they don't have to leave
their house to do so. They can do it anywhere, anytime, as long as they have a
computer or a device that affords them that opportunity.
If two people were physically
together, would that suggest infidelity if they were just flirting or kissing?
Maybe that behavior would eventually lead to sex and that is undeniably
cheating. But are two people being together, without engaging in sex,
considered adulterous? Perhaps most of us consider the act of cheating as
having a hidden emotional and romantic feeling or connection with another
person who isn't our partner, and they are expressing this connection or
feeling, technologically or physically, regardless of whether sex is involved
or not.
What motivated people to cheat on
their happy relationships?
A few of the reasons people cited
for cheating on their significant others were a need for excitement, for
attention, for affirmation of their beauty or worth. There was also a need to
engage in desired behavior that would be considered nasty or obscene that they
wanted to keep separate from their wholesome or pure relationship, to keep it
from becoming tainted. There was also a need to create a different persona to
break away from the person they are in everyday life, for a change and to break
out of a rut they felt they were in.
The cause for infidelity wasn't
necessarily the need for sex as it was the other reasons mentioned. Are the
reasons cited for cheating due to an unfulfilled relationship because their
partner falls short in satisfying the cheater? Or is it because there is
something lacking in the cheater themselves, perhaps a lack of integrity? We
live in a society today, where we feel entitled to be happy, and sometimes that
comes at the expense of others who are significant in our lives. The divorce
rate is higher today than it has ever been and the main reason cited as the
cause is infidelity.
Perhaps, people who think about
cheating should contemplate what they could be sacrificing should they
participate in an act that could ruin what they worked so hard to achieve, and
maybe think about other people's happiness, as well as their own. Those who are
considering committing the ultimate betrayal against their partners should seek
help in the form of therapy before doing something that could be detrimentally
damaging to their lives which would eventually cause their own unhappiness in
the end.
